KENTWOOD, Mich. — The victim of a Kentwood Delta Hotel shooting was identified Tuesday.
Police were called to Delta Hotel on 28th Street SE Saturday on report of a shooting, and found Jaquarrie Garrett, 22, of Georgia, according to Kentwood Police Department in a release.
Garrett was pronounced dead at the scene despite first-aid and lifesaving efforts, officers said.
As of Tuesday, the Kent County Medical Examiner ruled Garrett's death a homicide, with the cause being multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.
Garrett's original age was also reported as 21, but has since been confirmed as 22 years old, officers said.
Investigators continue to work on the case, and no further information is expected to be released at this time, according to the department.
