Motorcyclists are gathering for a long memorial ride in honor of fallen police Sergeant Collin Rose.

The Richland native and Gull Lake High School grad was shot and killed just before Thanksgiving in 2016.

Rose was a K-9 officer at Wayne State University and was shot while investigating several reported break-ins near campus.

Police have arrested a suspect who was found mentally incompetent to stand trial earlier in May.

Motorcyclists are meeting at the Climax American Legion Post at 11 a.m. Saturday June 2 for a 135 mile ride.

The ride will go to Sergeant Rose's memorial in Richland, then to South Haven and finally to Battle Creek for the Midwest-Showdown Motorcycles Show.

Tickets are $15 per bike and the money raised goes to a charity selected by Sergeant Rose's family.
