COLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Centreville man is behind bars after a wild Friday night.
St. Joseph County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop the 38-year-old man on M-86 after he drove away from a crash in Centreville, according to the sheriff's office.
Instead of stopping, the man led deputies on a chase through Colon Township, causing property damage and hitting other cars in the process, deputies said.
He then lost control of his car and crashed onto private property in Colon.
When he got out of the car, the man proceeded to take off all of his clothes, deputies said.
Fully nude, the man initially complied to verbal commands from deputies, but then hit a peace officer in the face, according to the sheriff's office.
After a brief struggle, the man was arrested and taken to a local hospital. He was medically cleared.
The 38-year-old faces charges of fleeing and eluding, assault on a peace officer, resisting and obstructing, indecent exposure, and driving while a license is suspended.
