Boy fighting for his life after near drowning

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Right now a Michigan boy is fighting for his life after nearly drowning in Lake Michigan Thursday night.

Muskegon County deputies tell us 13-year-old Jamirion Gomez from Lansing was swimming with three cousins in the water when suddenly he disappeared.

This happened at the Pere Marquette Beach in Muskegon.

Beachgoers quickly found Jamirion face down in the water near the shore.

Two off duty nurses who happened to be in the area started CPR.

Jamirion was airlifted to the hospital and is now in critical condition Friday morning.
