The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash involving a bicyclist and a truck with a snow plow attached to it.

It happened on 144th Avenue near Butternut Drive in Holland Township just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Sheriff's Office said a 46-year-old truck driver was heading north on 144th Avenue when he hit a 25-year-old man who was riding his bike.

Deputies said the truck driver told them he didn't see the bicyclist and, at first, didn't know he crashed into him.

The bicyclist was dragged for several hundred yards before coming loose. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said the truck driver is cooperating with its investigation and, at this point, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
