UPDATE: Missing teen with medical issues found safe in Albion
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Family of a missing girl said she was found safe in Albion after she had been missing since Sunday.
Authorities believe Taylor Perez, 16, voluntarily left home, but said she has the mental capacity of a younger child and medical issues, which include diabetes.
Mary Perez, Taylor’s mom, says she left their home on Fox Avenue Sunday morning and she had reason to believe her daughter wanted to harm herself.
Mary said she received a call on Tuesday from her daughter’s friend who said Taylor had been taking rides from strangers and may have traveled as far as Grand Rapids.
Mary and her family celebrated Memorial Day and a birthday with Taylor missing.
