    The Calhoun County Commissioner recognized "stylist to the stars" and Battle Creek native Felix McShan III for his professional accomplishments at the Commission Meeting on Thursday night.

    The well-respected hair stylist was born in Battle Creek, but he has spent 20 years living in Las Vegas, Nevada working for celebrities like Grammy Award winner Gladys Knight.

    He has also worked at big name events like The Oscars, the Opera Winfrey Foundation, and a the White House for Michelle Obama.

    Calhoun County Commissioner Rochelle Hatcher presented McShan with a proclamation of his achievements, recognizing not only his star-studded career, but also as a philanthropist to the American Cancer Society and the proud father of four children and grandfather of nine.

    The Board of Commissioners wrote in their proclamation, "Felix has not only touched the lives of so many throughout our community he has proudly represented Calhoun County and District 2 throughout this County and across the pond."
