A Battle Creek family won a wheelchair-accessible vehicle through a contest on video-sharing service TikTok.

The family said the vehicle would help 9-year-old Emory Banker, born with cytomegalovirus, make memories and do things she otherwise wouldn't be able to do.

"She's a fighter," her mother Chelsey Banker said. "She's amazing. She pushes through with a smile on her face. She's the happiest kid I've ever met in my life."

Chelsey Banker said Emory had outlived her doctor's expectations and grown out of her car seat. Her family found a North Carolina police officer's contest on TikTok, where he was raising money to buy a special needs family a vehicle.

The Banker family was one of two winning families.

"This is going to dramatically increase her quality of life," Chelsey Banker said. "She has not been able to visit family or go to the zoo comfortably in three years."
