Anonymous tips lead deputies to illegal marijuana grow

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office is investigating an illegal marijuana grow operation in the area (WWMT/MGN Online).

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office said a number of anonymous tips led them to an illegal marijuana grow operation in the area.

Deputies went to a home on 2nd Street and Territorial Road W. in Keele Township on Saturday.

They found five marijuana plants with an estimated value between $2,500 and $5,000.

A man living at the house was contacted and admitted to deputies to growing marijuana.

No one has been arrested yet, but deputies have identifed two suspects, a 40-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman.

The case will now be forwarded to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office.
