Almost 10% of Michigan's population has received first COVID-19 vaccine dose
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Almost 10% of Michigan’s population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to data released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Through Feb. 9, 2021, 1,391,159 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in the state. Of those, 397,551 were second doses.

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed Michigan was ahead of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio in COVID-19 vaccinations per capita, but slightly behind Wisconsin.
Four West Michigan counties were among the slowest vaccinating their populations, including Cass County, which at 4.31%, has the slowest rate in the state.
St. Joseph County, at 6.95%, Allegan County, at 7.07%, and Barry County, at 7.24%, were all among the eight counties with the lowest vaccination rates in Michigan.
