Allegan conservation organization seeks public input for Kalamazoo River Greenway
ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. —
Allegan County is seeking help to preserve and improve areas along the Kalamazoo River.
The Outdoor Discovery Center in Allegan received a grant from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to come up with a master plan for the Kalamazoo River Greenway.
The organization is hoping to restore the environment, focusing on recreation, conservation and education.
The greenway area includes land from Holland and Saugatuck over to Plainwell and Wayland.
The second of four public meetings where residents can share ideas for the area and what they'd like to see done was held at the Gun Plain Township Office in Plainwell.
The next meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Salem Township Hall.
The last meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Saugatuck Brewing Company.
