A Springfield father is in jail after investigation of injuries to a 2-month-old girl
SPRINGFIELD, Mich. —
After returning home and noticing significant marks on her child, the mother of a 2-month-old took the infant to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
Now, the father of the 2-month-old girl has been arrested on felony child abuse charges.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.
Investigators said that after the infant was taken to the hospital March 29, doctors discovered that she had multiple old and new wounds. The baby was transferred to Bronson Kalamazoo's pediatric unit, where she was treated for significant injuries.
Deputies arrested the father, who had been in the home alone with the baby that day, on an unrelated charge. He will be charged officially on the child abuse charges Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
