Emergency crews responded to car vs. semi-truck crash on US-31 in Grand Haven Township at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The man driving the semi truck was driving northbound near Hayes Street when he failed to stop for a flashing red signal, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
The two vehicles then crashed, leaving the 76-year-old man driving the car in critical condition, deputies said.
They said he was trapped in the car until he was freed by Grand Haven Township Fire and NOCH Paramedics.
