13 students involved in multiple vehicle crash east of Allegan, 4 hospitalized

    A five vehicle accident involving 13 Allegan County students clogged up M-222 west of 24th Avenue Tuesday, and the fire district chief said everybody is lucky to be alive given the circumstances.

    The Allegan County News reports the five vehicle accident happened around 10:30 a.m. Out of the 13 students from the Allegan County Technical and Educational Center, four were transported to the hospital via ambulance after suffering severe cuts, bruises and neck and back pain.

    “For the magnitude of this accident, all are lucky to be alive,” Allegan Fire District chief Nick Brink said via the Allegan County News. “Age, speed and seat belts all factored into this crash.”
