1 in critical condition after rear-end accident in Kent County

A 36-year-old woman is in critical condition after being rear-ended while trying to make a turn around 6:47 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16 in Kent County's Solon Township.

Kent County Sheriff's Office deputies report that a 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada driven by a 42-year-old Newaygo woman collided with the 2008 Chrysler 300 driven by the 36-year-old Cedar Springs woman while she was trying to make a turn near the 15000 block of Algoma Avenue Northeast.

The Cedar Springs woman was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. The driver of the at-fault Oldsmobile refused medical attention at the scene.

Currently, alcohol is not being considered a factor in the accident. Kent County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Solon Township Fire Department and Rockford Ambulance.
