Rep. Fred Upton discusses flooding loans and school safety committee
Newschannel 3’s Andy Dominianni talked with U.S. Representative Fred Upton on Wednesday for the Connect to Congress series.
Congressman Upton said he is hoping to hear back within just a couple of days on low interest loans for West Michigan businesses, who are still cleaning up from massive flooding last month.
Upton was just named co-chair of a bipartisan work group to create safer schools nationwide. Mental health is the key aspect of the new committee.
He said he is hoping situations like Paw Paw can be avoided by tracking and flagging troubled students before they develop a violent plan.
