GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) — A driver in Northeast Wisconsin went beyond just decking their halls this holiday season.

A state trooper pulled over a vehicle covered in Christmas lights on Tuesday.

While the trooper did give credit to the driver for being creative, she advised it was not legal to drive on the road.

The father of the festive driver replied to the Wisconsin State Trooper's post on Facebook saying, "Yep this was my kid!" Larry Kamholz noted that he was a retired cop and warned his son about driving with the lights but couldn't change his mind.

Since the incident, Kamholz said his son has gotten requests to stop by nursing homes, neighborhoods and activity centers to brighten peoples' day.

"As a fellow brother of blue, I initially cringed, but I’m over that now," Kamholz said. "The joy that my kid has brought has left me speechless."
