Bronco Hockey Update 3-14-13

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Western Michigan Bronco hockey team took 3 of 4 from the Michigan Wolverines this season, but the maize and blue have been tagged the team no one wants to face.

Michigan enters the series with WMU on a six game unbeaten streak.

They swept their first round series against Northern Michigan, while WMU enjoyed a bye week to rest and get healthy.

The Wolverines view the series as an opportunity to atone for a subpar reuglar season.

Meanwhile, four Broncos are up for CCHA awards.

Dany DeKeyser is trying to go back-to-back as best defensive defenseman.

Freshman Kenny Morrison is a finalist for offensive blue liner.

Dane Walters, a candidate for top defensive forward, and Andy Murray is one of three men on the ballot for Coach of the Year.
