Missing Coloma woman found in Mackinaw City

COLOMA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police have reported that a missing Coloma township woman has been found near Mackinaw City.

Jami Nicole Olmstead-Jacobs was reporting missing on Monday after attempts by family members to locate her had gone unanswered.

Tuesday evening, police reported that officers were able to track use of her cellphone on Sunday afternoon to a cell tower near Mackinaw City.

Olmstead-Jacobs was taken into custody in Mackinaw City, and has been admitted as a patient at the McClaren Hospital in Petoskey.

Police say the original cellphone information indicated she was near her home in Coloma, but a State Police specialist was able to determine that the code for the cell tower was given incorrectly, and a second look showed that she was traveling northbound on I-75 before her cellphone went black.

Mackinaw City Police discovered her vehicle at the Parkside Bridgeview Hotel.

She was found at the hotel, where she voluntarily requested to be admitted to the local hospital for evaluation.
