FBI links attempted GR robbery to case near Detroit

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Friday night, the FBI is linking an attempted robbery at a Grand Rapids jewelry store to a major theft a at a jewelry store in Detroit.

On April 22, four armed men attempted to rob the Paul Medawar Jewelry store on Plainfield Avenue, before an employee shot one of the suspects.

Five hours later, more than 100 Rolex watches, worth thousands of dollars, were stolen at a Tapper's Jewelry Store in West Bloomfield.

Police say a white Volkswagen Passat and a black Chevy Equinox were waiting outside of Tapper's during the robbery.

Right now, multiple agencies are working together to catch these suspects and there is a $25,000 reward for any information leading to their arrests.
