The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids maintians WIND ADVISORIES for Ionia, Allegan, Barry, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties until 10 PM.  45-50 mph gusts are verifying and may create some power outages, downed trees, or branches.  

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES start at 4 PM and last until 4 PM Tuesday in Ottawa, Kent, Muskegon, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, and Montcalm counties.  Snowfall may exceed 6" through late Tuesday.  Blowing and drifting snow is likely.

UPDATED: Driver who hit school bus located, taken into custody

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Just before 11:00 p.m. Friday night, Michigan State Police confirmed that they have located and taken a suspect into custody in connection to an accident with a school bus.

A Hopkins Public School bus was hit Friday while sitting at a stop sign at 138th Avenue and 30th Street.

There were 8 elementary children on board, but no one was injured.

Witnesses say the vehicle was an older, white sedan, and it is believed to be a Pontiac Bonneville.

Late Friday night, police confirmed that the vehicle had been located in Salem Township, and the driver was taken into custody.

The driver was initially charged with reckless driving, as well as failing to stop and identify at a property damage crash.
