Some emergency warning systems in need of upgrade in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It's severe weather season, but emergency warning systems in at least one West Michigan community are in need of an upgrade.

Right now, city leaders in Battle Creek are looking to swap out ten tornado sirens.

They say the brutal, cold winters over the last 60 years have made them less effective.

We're told the sirens cost between $15,000 and $25,000 each, but city leaders say there's no price on safety.
