DEA expands synthetic drug crackdown

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The DEA has expanded its crackdown of synthetic drug makers and sellers in a widespread bust, netting hundreds of arrests and seizing millions of dollars.

Agents executed search and arrest warrants in Michigan and 24 other states Wednesday.

They seized thousands of packets of drugs, known as spice, bath salts, and molly, along with $20 million.

In all, 150 people were arrested.

The DEA says it's concerned the money made on the drugs is going to fund terrorist organizations in the middle east.
