St. Joseph Co. authorities investigate brush fire

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police in St. Joseph County are investigating after a brush fire burned a mobile home Thursday.

The St. Joseph Police Chief tells Newschannel 3 that the fire started as a grass fire and then quickly caught a mobile home on fire.

It happened on Sewanee Trail, just north of Colon.

Three fire departments responded to put the fire out.

Neighbors say the mobile home has been vacant for several years, and that someone across the road was burning debris when the fire got away from them.
