Pres. Obama touches down in Michigan Wednesday afternoon

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - President Obama will be in Michigan Wednesday to discuss his proposal to raise the national minimum wage.

He is scheduled to touch down in Michigan just after 1:00 p.m.

The President is pushing to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour by 2016.

Local supporters are trying to get the issue on the November ballot, but opponents say it would raise prices at restaurants.

The President will be speaking in Ann Arbor at 3:00 p.m. at the University of Michigan.

Newschannel 3's David Bailey is in Ann Arbor, and will have more on the speech on Newschannel 3 Live at 5.
