Neighbors speak out about Constantine meth bust

CONSTANTINE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're learning new information about a disturbing meth bust in Saint Joseph County.

We broke the news Monday night about the bust on Brick Chapel Road near Constantine.

Deputies were called to the home Monday after finding a large meth dump site nearby.

Inside, they found deer carcasses, multiple guns and drugs.

When the Tilbury's came home from shopping Monday, they found deputies and the DNR raiding their neighbors home.

"I was watching them pull Pepsi and Mt. Dew bottles with meth in it and put them in big five gallon buckets," said Stephanie Tilbury.

At the house off Brick Chapel Rd., St. Joseph County Sheriff's Deputies tell us they found two men surrounded by everything illegal.

"They located four, one pots in the house, and they also located three gas generators in the house along with firearms," said Undersheriff Mark Lillywhite.

Police pulled ten long guns from the home and in the garage found a dead deer carcass hanging from the rafters.

Two other carcasses were found nearby, and deputies believe they may have been possessed illegally.

But what's disturbing for the Tilbury's, is everything took place near their son's bus stop.

"When we would go up to pick up my kid, there was a couple of strange smells we couldn't put a pin on what it was," said Brandon Tilbury.

Today, the house sits quiet with a warning from deputies to stay away on the front door.

The Tilbury's tell us it's a relief after years of turmoil coming from the people who lived there.

"We've had bullets come through flying back here, arrows come back here, my cat got shot, he has three legs now, and they wouldn't do nothing about it...and finally something happened," said Stephanie Tilbury.

We're told the two suspects have not been arraigned yet, but they're facing a slew of charges including maintaining a drug house.
