Passenger count up at Gerald R. Ford Airport for February

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The harsh winter may have put a dent in traveling during the month of January, but it seems like things went back to normal in February.

Leaders at the Gerald R. Ford Airport say more than 171,000 passengers traveled to and from there.

That's a more than 4 percent increase from the nearly 164,000 who flew last year.

Leaders say the numbers are about on pace with last year's levels, which is a pleasant surprise.

January's numbers were disappointing, dropping nearly 3 percent, but the numbers seemed the same from other airports across the region.
