Suspect in MSU student's death arraigned on separate charge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The man considered a suspect in the murder of an MSU student from West Michigan has been arraigned on a charge of tampering with an electronic device.

19-year-old Marqua McCoy is being questioned about the death of 20-year-old Dominique "D.J." Nolff.

Nolff was killed in his East Lansing apartment on January 31.

McCoy was arrested earlier this week in Grand Rapids.

He was on parole, and police say he cut his tether.

So far, McCoy has not been charged with murder.

He'll be back in court for a preliminary hearing on the tampering charge on March 3.
