Wintry weather affects Michigan Blood donations

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The extreme winter weather has also dealt a blow to Michigan Blood, during a season when they already see a drop in donations.

According to Carolyn Wylie, with Michigan Blood, the organization only received 44 donations across the entire state Monday. That number stands in stark contrast to their usual daily donation level of around 400. They say Tuesday is looking rough as well.

Michigan Blood wants to remind everyone that their Kalamazoo center is open on East Milham Rd., from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, while their Grand Rapids center is open from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and 12:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Any help anyone can offer them is always greatly appreciated, and more information can be found by clicking here.
