10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with for your weather today and always!

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We've got a few more tips to pass along for those of you who may still be digging out that will help you, your home and those around you.

Clear as much snow from your roofs as possible to prevent ice dams from forming.

Make sure snow and ice is cleared from your furnace vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Keep your cabinet doors open so the heat can circulate to your pipes to keep them from freezing.

And clear the snow from your mailboxes so your mail can still be delivered.
