Weather blamed in freight train collision with semi

ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Weather is believed to have played a factor in a crash involving a freight train and a semi truck.

Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies say the truck driver was pulling out of a business Tuesday afternoon on Parkway Drive in Zeeland Township when he stopped where he thought was off the train tracks.

The oncoming train was unable to stop and hit the truck.

The driver of the truck says he didn't see the train coming due to white-out conditions.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.
