Don't forget about your pets in the winter weather

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - According to the ASPCA, during the winter months it's important your cat or dog has a warm place to sleep, off the floor, and away from drafts.

If you're taking your dog on a walk, keep it on a leash. Many dogs run off this time of year because they easily lose their scent in snow and ice.

Check under the hood of your car for cats, they tend to hide there because it's warm.

And, it's important to wipe up any spills, like salt or antifreeze, which can be poisonous.
