New information in arrest of reserve officer

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're learning new information Friday evening about the arrest of a reserve officer, accused of trying to trade drugs for sex with an undercover officer.

Newschannel 3 had the only camera in court on Wednesday when a judge arraigned Michael Strong on two felony charges related to drugs and weapons.

Investigators say Strong contacted an undercover officer through a profile set up on a gay dating website, and set up a meeting at the Holiday Inn in Oshtemo Township.

According to testimony, Strong showed up in full police uniform and brought two handguns and a taser with him, as well as his dispatch radio.

In addition, they say he had the drugs Molly and Adderall.

He was arrested on the spot.

Strong is out of jail on bond, and he's been suspended from his department.
