Man dragged from court after life sentence

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Kent County man accused of strangling his girlfriend had an outburst in court after being sentenced to life in prison.

On Monday a judge sentenced 26-year-old Jahleel Hoskins to between 50 and 100-years in prison for the death of 26-year-old Latrice Maze.

Moments after the sentencing Hoskins threw the podium at the judge and had to be dragged from the courtroom.

Hoskins is already serving 25 to 75 years in prison for attacking Kenneth Harris in a parking lot back in February.

Prosecutors say it was that crime that led to Maze's death.

They say Hoskins wanted to prevent her from telling police about the assault.

Maze was reported missing on March 20th. Her body has never been found.
