Grid operator urges electricity conservation

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The power company that supplies energy to more than 60-million people across the U.S. is asking you to conserve electricity Tuesday.

PJM Interconnection operates the power grid that supplies energy right here to West Michigan and several other states.

The grid operator is asking the public to cut down on electricity use, especially from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The company is issuing the request to avoid outages.
