West Michigan roads photos

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Photos of roads across West Michigan are coming into the Newschannel 3 newsroom.

The Van Buren Sheriff's Department is advising drivers to avoid unnecessary travel. Some drivers became stranded in their vehicles due to snow and drifts Saturday morning, deputies say. They say tow trucks cannot get to some stranded vehicles until roads are plowed.

In southern Kalamazoo County and St. Joseph County, north-south roads are getting the brunt of the blowing and drifting snow. The wind is coming out of the west at 15 to 20 miles per hour, causing near-whiteout conditions in some places.
