Photographer captures frozen lighthouses

MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Thanks to the polar vortex, one photographer was able to catch several Michigan lighthouses frozen in time.

The photos were taken by Thomas Zakowski from South Bend and they've received a lot of attention on social media this week.

Zakowski says he tries to make the trip out to the lighthouses in St. Joseph and South Haven every year after a big storm.

And while he likes all the attention, the 56-year-old says he does it because the area fascinates him.
