Homes evacuated in Tekonsha for gas leak

TEKONSHA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A major gas leak in Calhoun County forced families from their homes Monday night.

Main Street in Tekonsha was closed for hours Tuesday morning.

58 homes were evacuated.

Authorities say that it was caused by a malfunctioning underground gas valve. It's near the intersection of Jackson Drive and Church Street.

People were given the all clear before 11:00 Tuesday.
