Medicaid expanding in Mich.

LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Governor Rick Snyder says the Obama administration has signed off on Michigan's plan to expand Medicaid in the state.

The new plan will expand to include more than 320,000 low-income Michigan residents.

Snyder made the announcement Monday night that Michigan received a waiver of certain provisions of the federal health care law.

The approval means Michigan can extend Medicaid availability to people making up to 133-percent of the federal poverty level.
