Crews respond to house fire in Waverly Twp.

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Crews from Paw Paw Fire Department are on the scene of a house fire on M-40 in Waverly Township.

The fire broke out in the 41000 block of M-40 on Monday night after 8:00 p.m.

The homeowner reported the family was watching television when they noticed the fire.

All three occupants of the house and the family dog made it out safe, and no injuries were reported.

30 firefighters from the Paw Paw Fire Department had the majority of the blaze out in around 10 minutes, and were treating hotspots.

Fire officials believe the fire started in a wood stove, and managed to catch the roof on fire.

The house is considered a total loss.

The family says they do have a place to stay Monday night.
