Spring Lake woman spreads the joy of 'paying it forward'

SPRING LAKE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A West Michigan woman is spreading the joy of paying it forward with a new website.

The site, miresi.org, actually tracks your random acts of kindness.

All you have to do is register online, then print out cards that you leave after you've performed an act of kindness.

Each card has a unique code that can be tracked, to see if the next person pays it forward.

Kelly Bovid, of Spring Lake, got the idea at a McDonald's drive-thru after she'd paid for the food of the man behind her.

"People don't do this enough, and it's a really great feeling when somebody surprises you, a stranger surprises you," Bovid said. "It has nothing to do with the amount of money paid. It's the gesture."

The website launched just this week and it's already attracting attention.
