WIND ADVISORY

10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather today and always!

Road projects announced for next year

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Get ready for a loaded construction season.

103 road projects across West Michigan have been given the green light thanks to a $115-million "Roads and Risks Reserve Fund" announced by state lawmakers.

Some of the projects include the resurfacing of Portage Road from East Milham to Byrd Drive in Portage and Oakland Drive from I-94 to Kilgore Road in Portage.

Crews will also be resurfacing Main Street and Front Avenue in Mattawan.

In Galesburg, there will be work on the bridge over Mill Creek on North River Road.

The projects are being funded by grants from the Michigan Department of Transportation.
