Congress sends spending plan to president
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Congress has agreed on a government spending plan.
President Obama is expected to sign it by the end of the week.
On Wednesday the Senate approved the budget by a vote of 64-to-36.
The compromise sets a path of government spending unto 2015 and puts aside the threat of a shut-down.
The deal calls for erasing some forced spending cuts and reducing the deficit by at least $20-billion.
In a statement the president thanked congressional leaders for working together.
