Supreme Court denies appeal in perjury case
LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The perjury case against the sister of a person-of interest in the 2004 killing of Newaygo County teen will move forward, according to M-Live.
The state Supreme Court denied Candace Wallis-Baumgartner's appeal last week.
Newaygo prosecutors say she knows more than she's told so far about the death of the 13-year-old Amanda Lankey from White Cloud.
Police say her brother, Cecil Wallis Senior, was the prime suspect in the case. He committed suicide in 2011.
Amanda Lankey went missing in June of 2004.
Her body was found two weeks later in Manistee National Forest.
