Usher receives sentence in Russian roulette death
OTTATWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A young man who pleaded guilty in the shooting death of his friend in Tallmadge Township learned his sentence Monday.
Richard Usher was sentenced to between 3 and 15 years in prison in the death of 16-year-old Brandon Kuiper.
This past September, Usher pleaded no contest to a manslaughter charge in Kuiper's death.
Police say Usher was in his basement with Kuiper on March 6, when the two reportedly played a game of Russian roulette.
Four other males aged 17 to 19 were also allegedly in the basement at the time of the shooting.
No one else was hurt.
