Broncos supporting breast cancer awareness
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) The WMU Broncos are showing their support for breast cancer awareness this weekend.
On Saturday the team will wear black helmets marked with pink ghost broncos during their game against Ball State.
During the team meeting Thursday, the players showed their support for WMUs Defensive Coordinator Ed Pinkham, who lost not one but three of his sisters to breast cancer.
The Broncos handed a pink oar to Pinkham at the meeting, signed by each player, and dedicated it to Pinkhams sisters.
Pinkham's family started the Pink SOCS (Sisters of Cancer Survivors) Foundation in 2008.
The non-profit organization works to improve the lives of families that have been affected by all forms of cancer.
