19K lbs. of chicken and ham products recalled
MILWAUKEE (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Some 19,000 lbs. of ready-to-eat chicken and ham products are being recalled because of possible listeria bacteria contamination. Listeria can lead to miscarriages in pregnant women and serious illnesses in people with weakened immune systems.
The Food and Drug Administration discovered the problem with Garden Fresh Foods, a Milwaukee-based company, through testing. These foods were distributed nationwide, put into chicken and ham salads sold under the Market Pantry, Archer Farms, D'Amico and Sons, Finest Traditions Garden Fresh and Wies brands.
