Non-profit calls for more Mich. school funding
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A non-profit group is calling for more funding for Michigan Public Schools.
The Michigan League for Public Policy says budgets have been cut by 9 percent since 2008.
That works out to about $600 less per student, and is a bigger cut than 33 other states.
The group says even as the economy has begun to recover, Michigan has cut K-through-12 education, and they say those cuts could have a long-term economic effect by creating a less-educated work force.
