New Michigan concussion law for high school athletes goes into effect
LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - With the new school year, athletic programs in Michigan have new rules to help protect young athletes.
The new law regulates sports concussions.
From now on, a young athlete must be removed from play if a concussion is suspected.
He or she may not return until written clearance is received from a health professional.
The law also requires adults involved with the kids receive training and information, so that everyone knows what signs to look for.
