Albion College closes until Sept. 15 due to storm
ALBION, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Albion College announced Wednesday night that it will be closing for the remainder of the week.
Administrators made an announcement on the college's website, which stated that due to "significant damage" from the storm which struck Albion Wednesday, the college would be canceling classes until Monday, September 16.
"The college has no hot water, no Baldwin service, and no power, including exterior lights and street lights, and at this time, it is not known when these services will be restored," the college said.
Baldwin Hall houses Albion College's dining services.
The college said that the science complex would remain open Wednesday night for those needing to stay there.
All students have been encouraged to go home as soon as possible, including Wednesday night, if it is safe and practical to do so.
The college adds that all residential buildings will be closed at 12 noon on Thursday, and that all students should be out of their rooms by that time.
For those unable to leave due to transportation reasons, the college has made Seaton Hall available while the college is closed for the weekend.
Residence halls will re-open at 12 noon on Sunday, September 15th, provided power has been restored.
